REALISTIC SUPERTAPE HD – 1988 – US
Realistic were a brand of Radio Shack / Tandy.
This was a US only cassette, from the late 80s.
The leader is blank, the shell looks like a 70s Maxell, but doesn’t feel as good. The tape needed a bit of positive bias and an increase in level compared the the Sony UX the deck we used is calibrated to.
It handled the noisy stuff well, but there was noticeable hiss on the quiet stuff, even though it was recorded at +3db with no NR.
