Variscite is a hydrated magnesium aluminium phosphate.
It is closely related to turquoise which has a trace of copper.
It comes from a cattle station (ranch) in Western Australia approx 100 miles north of the town of Meekatharra. The variscite occurs as horizontal seams that run into the side of a steep hill. The seams are hosted in a silicified shale of the Proterozoic “Jillawarra Formation”
This exceptional Variscite specimen from the rugged landscapes of Woodlands Station, near Mount Augustus in the Gascoyne region of Australia, is a true collector’s gem. Featuring a striking contrast between its raw, natural form and a beautifully polished face, this piece reveals the mesmerizing green hues and intricate patterns that make Variscite so sought after.
Closely related to turquoise, Variscite is known for its calming energy and rarity, making this a unique addition to any collection. Whether displayed as a statement piece or admired for its geological significance, this one-of-a-kind specimen is a true celebration of nature’s artistry.
