This limited edition of 8 Ultra Mattes will be hand painted by the artist in a color of the collector’s selection. Once purchased, Tappan’s collector liaison will reach out and help facilitate these choices between the collector and the artist. Due to the bespoke nature of these pieces, they will have a longer lead time.
Across artist Henryk Lobaczewski’s work is an element of the unknown. Each piece is immersive, textural, and intense as the artist draws comparisons between life’s captured micro-moments, where (even with the same tools, materials, and environments) there is always a different outcome. Henryk is dedicated to making work that creates new textures via quick decisions, chasing the perfect gestural stroke that speaks of the moment in which it was rendered and that can then last an eternity.
The Ultra Matte series, unlike the artists other works, results in an almost natural move to concrete and polymer to create the super high off-the-wall relief and honor his intense love of vibrant color.
